An app for museum visitors providing the ability to manage their art discovery experience.
Team of three: I collaborated extensively with three members of our team each contributing our research analysis, sharing ideas, insights, direction, design and combining our results. I designed the low-fi wareframes setting the base of the IA structure, organized the data and produced the presentation deck and presented our project to the class.
Conducted interviews resulting in observations, insights, and patterns. Most interviewees had an overall positive museum experience though some pain points included navigation difficulties, finding amenities and over-crowding indicator. Interviewees visiting objectives tended to be split between those who visited their local museum alone as a break in their daily routine or those who planned their visit as a social special event activity. All visitors expressed enjoyment in the activity and would return.
From the contextual inquires and pattern analysis, two personas were defined. Scenarios were developed for the "Casual art museum visitor" and "Frequent art museum visitor".
From the analysis and model diagrams, we can start to develop a concept system to include such tasks as finding the museum and your location in the museum, planning and finding specific artworks, floorplans, and finding assistance.
Organized the concepts and create wireframes to test the key tasks.
Conducted usability testing, gain insights on design. The general response for the ArtQuest app prototype was positive. Most testers found it to be a valuable tool and liked the ability to manage their museum visit, plan a route, find a particular artwork, note favorites, and ask for additional information all in once place.
